Call Of Duty: Ghosts Unsurprisingly Tops Weekly Game Charts

video gamesIt may have endured some fairly bad reviews for a Call of Duty game, but that hasn’t stopped the latest Ghosts game from hitting the top of the charts. Last week’s top entry, the swashbuckling Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, has been pushed into third with Battlefield 4 retaining its second position. FIFA 14 and Grand Theft Auto V have both dropped a position down to fourth and fifth respectively.

1 (-) – Call Of Duty: Ghosts

Call Of Duty: Ghosts is much of the same for the Call of Duty franchise. If you think that’s a good thing, then you will love Ghosts. If you’re looking for something a bit different, then you should probably move away from first person shooters altogether. There is nothing inherently wrong with Ghosts. It plays well, multiplayer will sap years of your life away, and there are some reasonable additions. However, you will feel like you’ve played it all before.

2 (2) – Battlefield 4

It’s not unusual to see Battlefield battling it out with Call of Duty but, while the Battlefield series continues to improve, the Call of Duty series is losing ground. Inevitably, they will meet in the middle somewhere along the way. The maps are massive, the fighting destructive, and the gameplay appealing.

3 (1) – Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag

Assassin’s Creed is another series that is beginning to feel a little tired, even though Black Flag does add a new element to the stealth killing game. You take on the role of a pirate, and there’s considerably more horizontal gameplay this time around. There’s a lot to keep you busy, and once you get past the initial few hours of handholding, you will find the beating heart of a brilliant game.

4 (3) – FIFA 14

FIFA 14 is still knocking around the charts and with fairly good reason. It is more simulation than any previous FIFA title, and football lovers don’t have a lot of choice when it comes to finding a game that is better.

5 (4) – Grand Theft Auto V

GTA V sold so many copies in its first couple of weeks that it is now finding it difficult to retain a decent chart position. The game is massive, beautiful, and frankly brilliant, and it also has the addition of some excellent online multiplayer features that should attract a whole new group of players. If you haven’t yet played it, then play it soon.
