Google purchases Green Throttle smartphone game controller company

Green Throttle googleGoogle goes on its price toward a home gaming system with a new acquisition.

Rumours of an impending that Google is likely to jump into the home video game console market with a set-top box. Based on Pando Daily, Google has simply snapped up a gaming organisation called “Green Throttle Games”, the trader of a Android gaming controller.

Green Throttle was developed by many more popular players in the modern technology world. The founder of the organisation is Charles Huang, who even co-founded RedOctane ( creator of the Guitar Hero sequence ). The additional 2 key staff members were Matt Crowley and Karl Townsend, each of them long standing Palm employees. Green Throttle mysteriously close down in November of this past year, however judging by the profile of LinkedIn timelines of Crowley and Townsend, the Google acquisition was the purpose of the closure. Flappy Bird creator Dong Nguyen says he is ‘considering’ bringing app back

FlappyBirdGameThe creator of Flappy Bird has admitted he is thinking about bringing back the app – just a month after taking it down.

Dong Nguyen stunned fans of the popular smartphone game in February when he said he was removing it from Apple’s App Store because it had become “an addictive product”.

But now, in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, the Vietnamese said he was “considering” bringing it back. Continue reading

Hit indie game Minecraft to be made into a Hollywood movie

minecraftMinecraft, if you’re not familiar with the game, is an open world sandbox affair where players build structures and shape landscapes using blocks.

It’s been a major hit across PCs, consoles and mobile devices, with folks building some incredible replicas of, for example, King’s Landing from Games of Thrones.

Xbox One price cut to match out-performing PlayStation 4

xboxMicrosoft is to drop the price of its new Xbox One console – just over three months after its release.

The console, currently priced in the UK at £429, with a bundled game, will drop to £399 on Friday and will include major title Titanfall in the package.

So far, the drop will only apply to the UK.

The new cost brings the console in line with the price of Sony’s PlayStation 4, which is outselling Microsoft’s machine.

Call Of Duty: Ghosts Holds Top Spot While Gran Turismo 6 Slips To 10th Place

Meanwhile, Gran Turismo 6, which only entered the charts last week in 8th position, has seen sales decline and is now in 10th spot. Lego Marvel Superheroes made decent gains in order to reach number 3 from last week’s sixth position.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is proving to be a virtually unstoppable juggernaut, despite mixed reviews that were especially critical of its lack of originality. Analysts have said that Ghosts has sold 19% fewer copies than Black Ops 2 had by the some point in its lifecycle, but also said that some drop was expected following the release of new consoles.
