Nike To Announce New FuelBand On October 15th

originalNike has said that it will be holding an event on October 15th and while they haven’t indicated what will be announced, reports suggest that it will be the latest version of the FuelBand smartwatch.

The smartwatch market has really heated up in the past few months with new entries and new models being released by a variety of different companies and manufacturers. However, while Samsung may only just be entering the market and Apple are expected to announce a smartwatch of their own, a couple of companies have been flying the flag for wearable tech for a while. Two new Samsung devices have hit shop shelves today, giving consumers the opportunity to combine the benefits of a smartwatch with a powerful phablet. The Latest Contender In The Smartwatch Market Is… Erm, Nissan

It’s fair to say that the smartwatch is gaining some fairly serious attention from big technology manufacturing giants. The likes of Samsung has just recently provided details of their Galaxy Gear watch while the crowdfunded Pebble has been doing the rounds for a while and Sony is already on its second generation of Smartwatch device. Samsung Galaxy Gear Unveiled At IFA 2013

Galaxy-Gear-008-Set1-Side_SixSamsung has unveiled its smartwatch, the Galaxy Gear, at this year’s consumer electronics show IFA 2013. EE and Phones 4 U have said that they will offer a £100 discount on pre-orders of the wearable technology.

The Sony smartwatch has attracted numerous rumours and leaks in the past few months but the technology giant has finally confirmed the device while unveiling it at this year’s IFA 2013 consumer electronics show. It is effectively going to take on fitness tracking wrist wear like the FuelBand, but it will also include features like a touch screen, twin microphones, and video recording functionality. Hyetis Unveil The First Swiss Smartwatch, The Crossbow

hyetis1Swiss watch manufacturers Hyetis have unveiled what is arguably the first Swiss smartwatch and have packed absolutely everything they possibly can, and then some, into the stylish looking design.

A new smartwatch unveiled by Swiss manufacturers Hyetis will reportedly connect to Android, iOS, and Windows smartphones and will feature a fairly staggering 41mp camera (we’re not entirely sure of the benefit of having a digital camera on your wrist though). It will also be touch screen and will have an altimeter, microphone, thermometer, and biometric sensors. We’re sure if they can think of anything else to add then it will make an appearance. Samsung Galaxy Gear And Galaxy Folder Rumours

Samsung-SCH-W2013Rumours have surfaced that the Samsung smartwatch will be an addition to the Galaxy range and called the Galaxy Gear while supposed photos of a dual-display flip smartphone called the Galaxy Folder hint at further new Galaxy releases.

The idea of a smartwatch doesn’t float everybody’s boat and nor is it a new phenomenon but there remains a few major technology companies that have yet to throw their hat firmly into the wearable technology ring.
