It’s been a major hit across PCs, consoles and mobile devices, with folks building some incredible replicas of, for example, King’s Landing from Games of Thrones.
Another famous block-building game, Lego, has just screened a very successful movie which opened earlier this month.
Indeed, given this fact, and the seeming general bankruptcy of original creative ideas in Hollywood these days – with retro-resurrections and licenses aplenty – it isn’t too surprising to think that Minecraft could also make the transition to the silver screen.
Deadline got the scoop on the potential Minecraft film, reporting that Warner Bros has picked up the rights from game developer Mojang. It will apparently be a live-action version, and has seen “huge interest” from writers and filmmakers already.
