Movie brilliance celebrated at BAFTA’s

It was a great night for British actors and directors, with Gravity and 12 Years a Slave winning the big awards of the night. Frozen pipped Despicable Me 2 and Monsters University to the award for Best Animated Film.

The likes of Leonardo DiCaprio and Prince William were all at this year’s ceremony.

Globally, the BAFTA’s are often seen as the warm-up act to the Oscars – the world’s biggest movie awards.

When presenting an award to Dame Helen Mirren, who once played the Queen, Prince William described her as “an extremely talented British actress who I should probably call “Granny”!
