PayDay 2 Finally Takes Top Spot Away From Minecraft

Payday-2-LogoMinecraft has enjoyed incredible success in the All Platform Video Game charts but its time at the peak has been cut by new entry PayDay 2, which has gone straight in to the top position leaving Minecraft in 2nd. Black Ops 2 is back up to third while FIFA 13 has dropped a couple of positions to 4th spot. Animal Crossing held steady for fifth position. There were few new entries in what is the calm before the storm of several new releases next week.

1 (-) – PayDay 2

PayDay 2 is an anomaly. It is crammed full of glitches and bugs and yet the game, which is effectively a co-op crime caper, still excites and offers excellent levels of gameplay. You are likely to really quite enjoy the game but you do have to be a little forgiving of some glaring errors.

2 (1) – Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition

There’s not a lot that can be said about Minecraft that hasn’t already been mentioned, except that it’s now fallen from the top spot. Build, challenge, and manage virtually anything you want in this game that is also available via download and proving popular on tablets and computers too.

3 (7) – Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2

Black Ops 2 enjoyed a revival of chart position as gamers eagerly await the release of the final map pack for the first person shooter. Few game series have managed to build the same level of popularity as Black Ops 2 and it will continue to sell for some time yet; at least until Ghosts is released.

4 (2) – FIFA 13

This is FIFA 13’s 47th week in the charts which means that we should only be 5 weeks away from a new release. Hopefully, that will herald a decline in the game’s chart position. FIFA 13 is a football simulator and we’re sure people must have bought at least two copies by now for it to have enjoyed such a long run in the charts.

5 (5) – Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Animal Crossing: New Leaf is, like Minecraft, another indication that people enjoy building and managing their own towns, cities, and villages. New Leaf is a little different because players effectively move into an existing town and must use their personal skills to help manage the town and ensure its continued survival. Unmoved from last week’s chart position, this is the game’s 10th week in the chart.
