Samsung has announced two new additions to its Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 range in the shape of 8 inch and 10 inch display versions of the device. The 8 inch is almost exactly the same as the Galaxy Note 8 while the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 replaces the previous Tab 2 version and offers considerable improvements in the device’s specification.
The Galaxy Tab 3 8 inch has a 1.5GHz dual core processor and 1.5GB of RAM. It has up to 32GB of internal storage, depending on the version bought, and it also has a 5mp rear camera. The 8 inch screen offers 1,280 x 800 pixels. This means that the 8 inch has the same screen, resolution, Android version, and storage as the Note 8 although the Note does have a marginally better 1.6GHz processor.
The Galaxy Tab 3 10.1” variant is a significant upgrade and improvement over the Tab 2 10.1” version. The 1GHz processor has been replaced by a 1.6GHz model and it will be rocking Android 4.2 rather than the older 4.0 version of the Tab 2. However, both versions offer 1GB of RAM and the 10.1” screen will only be offering the same 1,280 x 800 resolution as both the 8” and the Note 8.
Samsung has said that these two new Tab 3 tablets will be available later in the year but no exact release date, or price details have yet been released. Prices should be similar to previous models though and the launch of the 8” version may be an indication of an impending Note 8 update.
