In its latest range of Sony Xperia Z phones, Sony has shied away from the moniker of Jack of all Trades and has instead opted to produce a number of models that stand out for being exceptional at certain tasks. The L is heavy on camera while the E is designed for those unusual people that like to actually make calls using their mobile phone. The T is HD and the Miro is social.
In the Xperia Z range, you are looking at a high end phone that attempts to offer the best of everything and the ZR is the latest announced launch which not only brings Galaxy S4 busting features but offers a camera phone that will work to a depth of 5 feet in fresh water for up to 30 minutes. There are some potential pitfalls with the phone but the 13mp camera will almost certainly take shots that will look better away from the slightly limited 720p display.
A Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Quadcore 1.5GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage aren’t too shabby and they will certainly cut through apps and games more than efficiently. There has been no official word on pricing yet but Z phones aren’t usually found in the budget sector of your mobile phone shop. Sony has said that they expect the phone to be shipping in the second quarter of this year, so its release is imminent. They have also said that it will be launched in a number of global markets straight away.
