Huawei are continuing their ascent into the branded handset market and are combining with TalkTalk to offer consumers access to two new mobiles and a new tablet as well. The company has performed well in the past, though typically under the brand of mobile providers. However, they are stepping out of that shadow and as well as some fortuitously leaked information on a new phone in the past couple of days, TalkTalk has announced that it will be offering a selection of Huawei devices.
One of the devices is the Ascend G510 smartphone. It features a 1.2GHz dual core processor behind a 4.5 inch screen. It runs Android Jelly Bean and has the Emotion UI that previous owners will be accustomed to running over the top. The phone is not a high end specification but it will be available on contracts from just £10 a month and it looks to have very good specification for that kind of price range. It will be available from the 4th June.
The Ascend Y210 has a 2mp camera and offers convenient access to features like the camera and address book straight from the unlock screen. This one is even cheaper and will be made available on contracts from just £5 per month.
The MediaPad 7 Lite will be the first Huawei branded tablet to launch here in the UK and will be bundled with mobile phone contracts in most cases. It has a 1.2GHz processor, a 7 inch screen, and both a 3.2mp rear camera and 0.3mp front camera. The MediaPad 7 is already available and even comes bundled with an Ascend Y210 contract – you’re getting an awful lot of tech for £5 per month.
