Top 5 Video Games Chart – 8th June 2013

video gamesGrid 2 has retained the attention of gamers, sitting pretty in first place for a second week running, while FIFA 13 is still clinging on. It is in 2nd place in what is its 37th week in the charts. New entries that have launched in the top 20 include Remember Me in 3rd and Skyrim: Legendary Edition in 4th.

1 (1) – Grid 2

Grid 2 is an awesome driving game. It’s less simulator than the likes of Forza but it is also considerably more pick up and play. You don’t have to sit and sweat over the tiniest details to ensure that you get the ultimate performance from your machine. It looks great, feels superb, and warrants its second week in the throne.

2 (2) – FIFA 13

FIFA 13 is certainly lingering, now enjoying its 37th week in the charts. It’s seen some highs and lows during this time, too, but it has nestled in second place for a couple of weeks as the season draws to a close. The return of the “Special One” Mourinho to Chelsea means that the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson is becoming a distant memory and it seems that the manager who is described as pure Box Office is helping do the trick for EAs football brand.

3 (-) – Remember Me

Remember Me is the highest new entry this week although it received mixed reviews from critics and gamers alike. In reality, there is nothing fundamentally flawed with the game but you do get the sense that Capcom could have done so much better and offered us so much more in this futuristic sci-fi shooter. All in all, though, you shouldn’t be too disappointed if you happen across a copy of the game.

4 (-) – The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Legendary Edition

The only other new entry in the top 20 isn’t really a brand new release and there’s very little that we can add to what is already out there. We can say that the Legendary Edition includes patches to improve the experience, the main game, and all three official expansions released so far for the game.

5 (4) – Far Cry 3

Far Cry 3 is another game that has been there and done that in the charts. It has dropped one place from last week but is still in 5th place in its 28th week in the chart. It is a masterful piece of gaming authorship and if you haven’t yet played it we strongly advise that you get your paws on a copy.
